Hey fellas it's been about a year since we started this thing so I figured now would be a better time than ever to have a quick chat about how you guys are going and feeling about everything.

So..... You boys have been a bit busy this last year. Would you like to give the readers an overview of everything that the band has done?

We’ve been sitting in a studio recording and tracking for a few new songs we’re gonna release and maybe a video or two. We have also been playing a few shows around Perth but more focusing on recording songs soo the next two shows are the last two shows of the year and shit we might even have a tour coming, me and the band wouldn’t mind surfing over in Brisbane.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Marceline was actually an original project of yours years back right Jonno? Then it got put on hiatus for a bit and now it's become your main passion along side running this label. I guess what I would like to know is why did you decide to start Marceline again?

Ahh man honestly me and Tom (guitarist) were having a beer at the Pen (Peninsula Tavern) and I told him I didn’t wanna play music anymore. I just lost the love of it for a while and he said “That’s actually pretty disappointing man” and that fucking sucked soo I just started writing after that and remembered why I love playing. It was just hanging with your best mates, playing shows, drinking beers and talking shit to each other whilst writing music. I honestly couldn’t think of anything more hectic and fun than getting in a van with your mates and just driving around playing shows.

With the new line-up you guys were initially a three piece band but then you decide to bring in Perth royalty Dan Rose into the fold. Professional and personal relationship aside why did you three as a band decide to bring Dan into the band?

I didn’t wanna do backing tracks for the lead guitars anymore and Dan was always there anyway so we though might as well just put him in the band. That was a pretty easy decision to make for all of us.

Since Dan has joined the band you have released an EP (HEX) and a single (Yeah...sick) with both having been accompanied by music videos. I guess I would like to know is that's next for the band? Are you planning on going down the singles route or is the plan to do a full album?

I dunno man we just release songs as we record them I wouldn’t mind recording an EP that would be sick.

I know you all have been writing and recording non-stop for the last few months and dodging my phone calls so I guess I would like to know where we are sitting with Emerald Eyes? Are you ready to give your fans a taste of some new music?

Hahaha sorry man but I’ll probably do it again. Yeah actually its ready to go, we’ll drop that one in a few weeks time. I’m pretty excited for everyone to hear it, I would probably describe it as a oddly depressing love song. It’s about feeling insecure in a relationship, not really believing that person likes you and waiting for the bad things to start happening but they don’t happen and you just feel kinda odd you know?

If you four boys had to agree on one band that you could all listen to together for the rest of your lives being stuck in the van from hell on a never ending tour what would the band be and why?

Fuck that’s a good question, I think we’d all agree on BLINK 182 they are such a dope band.

Word on the street is that you guys may be debuting a brand new song this weekend. Can you confirm/deny the rumours?

Can confirm.

I would like to ask Jonno a question. You made the suggestion to get Dead Crow over to Perth for these last two shows of the year. Why did you want to bring over an eastern states band for our local home town shows?

I’ve actually been listening to DEAD CROW for a while now, they are really cool band and they sound great. I also wanted to make more connections from Perth to the eastern states and bring bands over and give them place to stay just help out, it gets expensive touring and just getting some sick bands in to Perth.

Any last words for the readers at home leading up to Saturdays show at 4five9 bar and Sundays show at the Indian Ocean hotel?
